Perfect home

Lovely place!

Great location and very comfortable for two couples to stay. The roosters are loud so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper! But would definitely stay there again!

Thanksgiving in Hanalei
by AdamWe were lucky enough to spend the Thanksgiving week in Hanalei. The house was clean and well maintained…beds were comfortable and the kitchen was easy to cook in. Spent most of our time on the beach or in town, but when at the house the outside back deck was called “home” - nice Weber grill and set back from the street for privacy. The snorkel gear, bikes, and chairs were a hit with the kids. However my favorite was the outdoor shower downstairs, surrounded by tropical plants. Close enough to town to walk, but not much of a shoulder or buffer from the cars. Only downside of location was proximity to the road - you definitely hear the sounds of cars vs waves crashing. Overall clean, family friendly, and very well appointed

Exceptional

From our initial discovery of this property on the app, to the day we checked out, everything was exactly as described and actually much better. Absolutely no smoke and mirrors here – – this property is the real deal. A few minutes, walk to the beach, maybe about a minute ride on a bike to the beach, And maybe 5 to 10 minutes to ride a bike to get into town. The location was spectacular, the accommodations were some of the best we’ve had – – from what appeared to be Restoration Hardware quality, draperies, linens, etc. to very nice dishes, glassware, etc. No thrift-store furnishings here. Exceptional.

Favorite Hanalei spot yet
by SamanthaThis is one of my favorite Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. Hanalei is my favorite place to visit, and this home allowed us to have the best of it all. We rode bikes all over town, played games in the yard, relaxed and napped on the open patio, and cooked in the kitchen every night and used the outdoor showers downstairs in between trips to the beach (one block away). From the patio you have a view of your own waterfall in the mountains with rainbows every day. It was perfect. I can't wait to stay here again.

Pure Magic
by RuthThis was a splurge for us but so worth it. The location is incredible. The lanai is magical. The space is spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully. Make sure to stock up on provisions before you arrive as there is only cooking basics in the pantry. There is no air conditioning so it can get a little hot but the ceiling fans work well. There are all sorts of beach supplies and bikes for use that add to the overall experience. Pure magic!

This property was such a fun place to stay for a visit to the North Shore. Everything was fantastic but you should know that there is no air conditioning and the open air feel leaves you sleeping with the crowing roosters outside. For us, that made the experience even better and more authentic. |

Great home!
by MichaelWe stayed a week at this property, it is in a fantastic location right off the main shopping area in Hanalei and a 3 min walk to Hanalei Bay. The house is very well equipped and has everything you need (including beach essentials). Communication was good beforehand and during the stay, since it is a professional rental company the house rules are clear and easy to follow. Note that there is no A/C and so we had to keep the windows open and the fans running, but the house cools down at night. Great home base to explore the north shore!

Perfect Stay!

My daughter and her husband invited my husband and I for this once in a lifetime trip. There was no detail left out and the residence was simply immaculate. I definitely recommend this place to stay, perfect location, and we walked to town quite a bit. Fully loaded with anything you need. My son-in-law and my daughter made all the arrangements and this will be a trip to remember forever!

We had a wonderful time. I can truly say it is the best Vrbo rental we have stayed at. House was very clean with everything excluding food for our 8 night stay. Very comfortable beds, deck was amazing for relaxing outside and beach toys were great for our granddaughter and her two friends. A very short walk to the beach and to town. Excellent location

Wonderful
by MichelleWe had such a wonderful stay at Hale Maile. From the moment we walked in the door, it felt good to be there. It was bright, clean and welcoming. There was plenty of room for the four of us , not too big and not too small. The house was fully stocked including four bikes (which we didn’t expect) and everything we needed in the kitchen. We especially loved being able to eat outdoors on the beautiful deck and the gas stove that made cooking enjoyable. The showers also had amazing water pressure! The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the ceiling fans helped a lot with cooling the house. The location was great, walking/biking distance to everything in Hanalei. We especially appreciated how generous Makana Kauai was in letting us stay longer than we had planned due to a storm shutting down the Hanalei bridge on the day we were scheduled to check out. We would love to come back to Hale Maile, it was ideal for us!

Sweet and relaxed chic, close to the beach
We loved our stay!! Everything in this rental was clean and comfortable and stylish. Just as in the pictures, if not better. Well stocked in every way for comfort and fun - from the kitchen to the downstairs toy closet, complete with beach chairs, snorkels equipment, boogie boards, and our favorites - beach cruiser bikes. So easy to ride to the beach or ride into town. The folks at Makana Kauai were wonderful to deal with throughout - communicative and very helpful. Would come back in a heartbeat. Mahalo!!

This rental was perfect for our family, we could ride bikes to the nearest shops/store, also the beach was in walking distance which made it perfect for our children to go surfing. Amazing location

The house was in a great neighborhood and staying here made us feel more at home than any resort stay could. Having the bikes, beach chairs, ice chest, and snorkel equipment made our stay more effortless. Hanalei Bay is a five minute walk and the local restaurants are a 10 minute bike ride. We would stay here again!

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Hale Maile vacation rental. This property is so close to downtown Hanalei. It felt private. It had everything we needed. It was clean. The customer service was amazing and very responsive. We couldn't have asked for any place better. Loved the beds and the veranda and of course the laundry facilities. What a treat at the end of a long trip!

Perfection in Hamalei
This was perfect for our family of 5. The home was clean and fully stocked. It was bright and airy, which we loved. The second bedroom is separate from the main living area. You have to access it from the patio. Which wasn’t a big deal to us, I just slept with my son in that room and my husband slept in the queen with the two girls on the pullout couch in the main living area. But just so you are aware. This rental is in the absolute perfect location. 3 min walk to Pine Trees ( beautiful beach ). Will definitely be back to make more memories

A beautiful home in Hanalei, perfect for our family of four!

Everything about our vacation rental was terrific, from the thorough information provided before our arrival, very prompt reply to a question we had during our stay, a beautifully decorated and appointed home, and super easy checkout. The home was just as pictured, and had more than everything we needed for our week long stay. It was extremely clean, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. The layout is best for families with kiddos not too young, as the second bedroom has a separate entrance (off the lanai, with a locking door). Hanalei was an awesome location from which to explore the north shore, and it's an easy day trip to the south shore. Hanalei is a great little town, with a surprising array of great food given it's small size. We loved Hanalei Bread Co. for breakfast and lunch, and The Dolphin and Ama were amazing for dinner.

Fantastic stay!
This was the best rental unit I’ve ever stayed in. It was located in a perfect spot near the beach and included everything you could need or want. We were so happy to have a washer and dryer as well as a cooler and beach chairs. The water pressure in the showers was also very strong and appreciated after hiking or beach days. I highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful home, convenient location!

Perfection in Hanalei

This is a dream property. Perfect location for walking to the beach or town. Everything you need ( beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, games, bikes, ) for an active holiday. The home is charming and pristine clean. Great screens on all windows and sliders to enjoy the constant breeze. Great linens and fantastic five star towels both beach and bath, great BBQ, great lanai... it doesn’t get much better. Property management is very helpful and responsive. Dream vacation!

There is a spacious wrap-around porch and parking was easy and secure right under the house. Steps from the beach and a short, easy walk into town. We would love to go back and stay there again! Fantastic!

Post pandemic stay
Spectacular. The location was easy em walking distance to Hanalei and beach. House was even better than advertised. Umbrella for the beach was not quite adequate but other equipment for beach was in good shape. Overall very satisfied

Dream come true

My family and I stayed here for 10 days and never wanted to leave! Great location three minute walk or less to the beach beautiful cul-de-sac street. The rental was very clean organized and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we loved the porch during the rain storms. Highly recommend we hope to make it a tradition every year. Super close to town. We loved the bikes and beach gear. The absolute best!

Outstanding
This was a wonderful place to stay - it doesn't get much better! A few blocks from Hanalei Bay, had lots of beach gear available. The house itself was a breezy, cool oasis; it was very comfortable and cute. Had outdoor showers for washing beachgear, sand off feet, etc... Lots of space to relax on the wrap around porch. It would have been nice to get a little more of a heads up about the all week highway closure just before Hanalei, but we managed to figure it out!

Can't wait to return, it was a slice of heaven!
Absolutely brand new inside, charmingly decorated, everything you could need from bikes to chairs, to kitchen ware to cleanest towel and cozy beds. I cannot recommend this house more. I travel all over the world and this is one of the best houses I have stayed in. I really can't wait to return!

Loved Hale Maile House!

Great place! Clean, comfortable, convenient , airy. Second room with laundry is separate and accessed through lanai - which my teenager loved! Nice to have beach cruisers, chairs, umbrellas and an assortment of other things for the sand in the storage area. Everything worked well and managing company very responsive and accommodating with our request for late departure. Really loved this place!

Cozy Hanalei Escape

Great house in Hanalei
This was a great property located in Hanalei. We are a family of 4 with two teenage daughters. The house had a master bedroom connected to the living room and kitchen with a separate entrance for the 2nd bedroom with bathroom and laundry room. This set up worked well for our family. We enjoyed the comfortable porch even when it rained. The kitchen as well as the house was well stocked. We enjoyed riding the bikes down to Hanalei beach to watch the sunset. The location of the house was ideal. We had a wonderful experience working with Makana management company who we needed to contact directly during of stay due to unanticipated travel changes.

An escape to paradise

My wife and I have been in love with the Hanalei area for years and this is the perfect place from which to enjoy the environment. The layout of the house is beautiful, it's open, light and airy. There is great air flow and the place has everything you need to live comfortably for however long you are there. The house is immaculate and supremely comfortable, and the owner and management company are amazingly considerate and professional.
The house has a large and deep covered porch, which was delightful during times that rain would move through. The location is wonderful. It's close to "downtown" Hanalei, and only 1.5 blocks to the ocean and wonderful beach (Hanalei bay).
This is in an actual neighborhood, so there are cars going by (not often, but not absent either), neighbors' dogs bark, and the ubiquitous chickens of Kauai. None of these things were bothersome for us, we just thought it would be good for potential guests to know about.
The take home message from us is that this was our second stay at this wonderful house, and the day we left, we booked it again for next year. This will be one of the best places you ever stay.

Amazing stay in Hanalei

Loved this house. It was comfortable and beachy in feel and had everything that I could imagine to accommodate a perfect vacation. It was easy walking to to the beach and town - we literally did not use our car except back and forth from the airport. I definitely recommend this property and hope to return again and again.

Beautiful Hanalei

We stayed here with another couple and it was a great experience. The house is immaculate and the kitchen has everything any group could want. We did come up short on hot water due to two days of rainy weather. So that would take some planning on another visit.
We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Hale Maile! Yes, the hot water system is currently subjective to our sunny days, but plans are underway to resolve that. We hope you're able to make a return visit soon! Update Feb 2020: We're pleased to let you know that the solar hot water heater has been replaced, so we're now no longer dependent on sunny weather for hot water!
